AI Challenge Days

What is the AICommunityOWL?

AICommunityOWL is a network for industry driven AI enthusiasts founded in 2020 by members of Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, Technische Hochschule OWL, CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT – CIIT and Phoenix Contact.

AICommunityOWL is open to everybody from everywhere – interested in applying AI in different areas like #industry #building #iot #smartcity #mobility and more.

What is the “AI Challenge Days 2020” – Hackathon?

We will provide three different up-to-date challenges:

Challenge 1: Apply your AI algorithms on data coming from the shop floor of the industrial domain. Real data for this challenge will be provided by the SmartFactoryOWL https://smartfactory-owl.de

Challenge 2: Apply your AI methods on data coming from building automation domain. Real data for this challenge is provided by the company Phoenix Contact http://www.phoenixcontact.com/

Challenge 3: Use your AI approaches on smart-city data that is generated by the living lab Lemgo Digital http://www.lemgo-digital.de

What else can you expect?

Listen to our top-class keynote speakers. We are very pleased to announce Dr. Frank Possel-Dölken from Phoenix Contact and Prof. Jie Wang from Stanford University working on interdisciplinary research in the area of adaptive computational learning and reasoning for complex physical and social systems!

You can expect a highly motivated team to support you!

What we expect?

You will build your team in cyberspace with people from all over the world!
We will start with the team building session first.

We hope for a wide variety of choices of AI-methods employed to solve problems in our challenges.
We ask the participants to open their code to the organizers, under a license of their choice.
We ask the participants to avoid building on closed source software tools and libraries.

How to become a winner?

We evaluate the AI-methods via objective criteria on a held-back dataset.
Challenge winners will be given the opportunity to realize their solution after the hackathon and create the first reference!
